2019 EASA Convention: What to Expect in Booth #419

What will IRD® be showcasing at this year’s EASA show? Take a sneak peek into their booth and be sure to stop by booth #419 at the 2019 EASA Convention in Vegas on June 30 – July 2!

IRD® has been traveling to Electrical Apparatus Service Association's (EASA's) annual convention for the last 35+ years. With so many years under their belt, every year is a new, exciting opportunity to present what they’ve been working on and showcase some of their best products at the EASA Convention’s exhibition hall. This year, IRD is once again excited to have a full-size, 5,000 lb. capacity IRD® Balancing machine with their latest IRD® Balancing instrument, Model 295+. In addition, IRD will have a full-size 10 KVA LexsecoTM core loss tester with rotor and armature testing options on display in their booth, #419.

They will also be promoting a new online e-commerce site, shop.irdproducts.com, and their new training show room, where customers can view the same operational IRD Balancing machine (5,000 lb capacity) and operational 10 KVA LEXSECO core loss tester that will be at their booth in Vegas. IRD hosts quarterly training sessions for up to 20 people at a time, but they also welcome customers to "try before you buy" with the showroom equipment at any time.

When asked about some of the changes and developments taking place, General Manager at IRD, Jack Wright, said:

“There are so many new and exciting things going on here at IRD®, it is hard to know where to start! Several years ago, we recognized that the EASA customer base was gravitating to newer employees that would need to be able to operate our equipment. Therefore, we first started by re-writing and releasing updated instruments and software that provided a user interface that is intuitive and ‘walks you through’ the equipment operation. We wanted customers to quickly become proficient on our equipment, so they could spend more time becoming experts on the operation.

The next phase of this transition was to make it easier for the customer to do business with us. For this reason, we opened our e-commerce platform where we are stocking all the consumables and replacement parts related to our products. This allows the customer 24 hour access to our stock, so that if they do need a replacement part, they can quickly identify and purchase what is needed knowing that it will be shipped within 24 business hours. This online process also makes it easier for day-to-day purchases, since the customer can check pricing on their own, eliminating the need to contact the factory. Of course, we are still available for any questions, but with more and more purchases moving online, this enables customers to do the purchasing on their own time. With over 50% of our sales going international, the 24 hour access really does speed up the response time. We are now over 100 items available on shop.irdproducts.com and adding more each week!

To address the customer's need for ongoing personnel training on IRD equipment, we have also opened our new training facility located at the factory in Louisville, KY. This facility seats up to 20 people and includes a full size, fully operational IRD® Balancing machine and LexsecoTM core loss tester. We will be offering quarterly training classes for certification on IRD equipment and we just recently completed a one-day training session for the Louisville EASA chapter. The training center not only provides our customers with training from our well-versed instructors, but allows customers to visit and view the IRD equipment, test out the instrumentation, and become comfortable with the available options prior to making a purchase decision.

We see these changes as an expansion of our evolving customer service that allows us to interact more efficiently with our customers while still providing the high level of service that they deserve. IRD is transitioning into a company that is built around supplying world class product in an environment that is tailored to enabling customer success.”

IRD is excited at the opportunity to emphasize their latest developments, meet their customers face-to-face, and speak about their goals in making the customer's job easier, quicker, and more efficient.
